The Matterhorn is a mountain of the Alps, straddling the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy. It is a large, near-symmetric pyramidal peak whose summit is 4,478 metres high, making it one of the highest summits in the Alps and Europe.
I had the opportunity to meet this impressive mountain under perfect conditions. After a 30 minute hike in the middle of the night, armed only with a tripod, lamp and my camera I arrived at my spot. The weather could not have been better. I didn’t sleep much that night but it was definitely worth it.
