Emotions, beats & a big stage – with the Dangel Twins at the CODA Openair

There are moments in a photographer's life that stay with them for a long time. I recently had just such a moment: I was privileged to accompany the Zurich DJ duo Dangel Twins at their first major open-air event, "CODA." It was a milestone for them – and for me, it was the biggest stage I've ever photographed. An experience that challenged me emotionally and creatively, yet simultaneously fulfilling.

When the first beats thundered through the speakers, thousands of people raised their hands in the air, and the crowd began to dance, I knew immediately: This was going to be special. My heart rate was racing, the energy of the audience was palpable. But it wasn't just the atmosphere on the grounds that impressed me, but above all the passion with which the Dangel Twins took the stage.

What made this day even more special for me was the fact that the two DJs wore the joint WE•TRST artist collection . A moment that I was not only able to capture photographically, but also meant a lot to me personally. It was simply overwhelming to see the collection, which we had worked so hard on, presented to an audience of thousands.

Throughout the entire set, I constantly changed perspectives, jumping from one corner of the stage to the other, searching for the perfect light, the perfect moment, the emotion on the faces of the two artists, and the reaction of the audience. Every single click was a mixture of adrenaline and elation.

For photographers among you: Such events are a real challenge not only technically but also emotionally. It's loud, hectic, and the conditions are unpredictable – and that's precisely where the magic lies. You push yourself beyond your limits, test your limits, and discover new creative ways to create unique images.

Photographing this open-air event was an experience that made me realize once again why I pursue this passion: It's not just about photos, but about stories, emotions, and immortalizing real moments.
